District 2, in which the new province of Thu Thiem is located, is a district of Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, with the most potential. In the past, District 2 has been one of the poorest parts of Ho Chi Minh City due to the separation of the Saigon River. However, it is now the new hope for the government of Ho Chi Minh City. Since the construction of the Thu Thiem Bridge and Thu Thiem Tunnel was announced a couple of years ago, District 2 has seen more change than ever.

Saigon River

The Saigon River (Vietnamese: Sông Sài Gòn) is a river located in southern Vietnam that rises near Phum Daung in southeastern Cambodia, flows south and south-southeast for about 140 miles (225 km) and empties into the Nha Be River, which in its turn empties into the East Sea some 20 km north-east of the Mekong Delta.

Southeast (Vietnam)

Đông Nam Bộ (literally "South-eastern region") is a region in Vietnam. This region includes one municipality, Ho Chi Minh City; and five provinces: Dong Nai, Binh Duong, Ba Ria-Vung Tau Province, Binh Phuoc and Tay Ninh. The two southern provinces Ninh Thuan and Binh Thuan are sometimes seen as part of the Southeast region. This region is the most economically developed region in Vietnam.

Suoi Tien Amusement Park

Suối Tiên Amusement Park is an amusement park in District 9, Hồ Chí Minh City, Vietnam. The park includes several entertainment areas. The landscaping and attractions in the park illustrate Vietnam's history and legends, such as Âu Cơ and Lạc Long Quân as well as the Battle of Son Tinh and Thuy Tinh (The Mountain God and The River God). An artificial seawater pool is located in the park for sea-bathers. There is also a dinosaur garden.
