Leutascher Ache

The Leutascher Ache is a left tributary of the River Isar in Austria. It originates in the Tyrolean valley of Gaistal as a tailwater of the Igelsee, flows between the Wetterstein range and the Mieming Mountains, swings northeast near Leutasch, runs through the Leutaschtal, a high valley, and discharges into the Isar after passing through the Leutasch Gorge near Mittenwald in Bavaria.

Wetterstein

The Wetterstein, is a mountain range in the Northern Limestone Alps. It is a compact range between Garmisch-Partenkirchen, Mittenwald, Seefeld in Tirol and Ehrwald; partially in Bavaria, Germany and partially in Tyrol, Austria. In the Wetterstein is the highest peak in Germany, the Zugspitze.

Wettersteinwald

The Wettersteinwald ("Wetterstein Forest") is a nature reserve in the eastern part of the Wetterstein Mountains in Bavaria with an area of 42.6 hectares. It lies in the province of Upper Bavaria and covers a forested area owned by the state. It belongs to the first reserves designated in 1978 under the Forest Act for Bavaria (BayWaldG), Article 12a (Waldgesetz für Bayern, Artikel 12a).

King's House on Schachen

The King's House on Schachen (German: Königshaus am Schachen) is a small castle (Schlösschen) at Schachen, Wetterstein mountain massif, about 10 km south of Garmisch-Partenkirchen, Bavaria, Germany, built by Ludwig II of Bavaria. The castle was constructed between 1869 and 1872. It can only be reached by a three to four hour hike, either from Elmau or Garmisch-Partenkirchen, and provides a view of Zugspitze.
