Youbou, British Columbia

Youbou is a community located on the north shore of Cowichan Lake, west of Duncan and a 15-minute (13 km) drive west of the community of Lake Cowichan, Canada. The former mill town on Vancouver Island provides a public beach and extensive recreational opportunities, including fishing, boating, and hiking. Youbou gets its name from two employees of the Empire Lumber Company which operated the first sawmill here. Mr. Yount was the general manager and Mr. Bouton was the president.

Cowichan Valley Regional District

The Cowichan Valley Regional District is a regional district in the Canadian province of British Columbia is on the southern part of Vancouver Island, bordered by the Nanaimo and Alberni-Clayoquot Regional Districts to the north and northwest, and by the Capital Regional District to the south and east. As of the 2006 Census, the Regional District had a population of 76,929. The regional district offices are in Duncan.

Honeymoon Bay is an unincorporated community in the Canadian province of British Columbia. It is located on Cowichan Lake in the southeastern part of Vancouver Island — approximately 75 kilometres northwest of Victoria — at {{#invoke:Coordinates|coord}}{{#coordinates:48|49|N|124|10|W|scale:20000|| | |name= }}. In 2001, its population was listed as 629. Historically, its main industry has been forestry.

Mesachie Lake, British Columbia

Mesachie Lake is an unincorporated community in the Cowichan Valley region of Vancouver Island, British Columbia, Canada. It lies on the south shore of Lake Cowichan. The name is from the Chinook Jargon for "bad, evil, naughty". It was founded in 1942 by the Hillcrest Lumber Company, which built houses for its workers and their families. This company also planted many non-native fruit and shade trees which have since been given heritage status.
