Desjardins Canal

The Desjardins Canal, named after its promoter Pierre Desjardins, was built to give Dundas, Ontario, easier access to Lake Ontario and the Great Lakes system of North America. Although a technological achievement and a short term commercial success, the canal was soon eclipsed by the railway, and Dundas by neighbouring Hamilton.

Highland Secondary School (Dundas)

Highland Secondary School is a high school in Dundas, Ontario that opened in 1966. The school is a member of the Hamilton-Wentworth District School Board, in Ward 13. Highland was originally conceived to be 25% Academic and 75% Vocational, but has since evolved into a fully comprehensive secondary school. Over 70% of Highland Secondary School students who graduate pursue post-secondary education.

McMaster University Bus Terminal

McMaster University GO Bus Terminal is located on the campus of McMaster University in Hamilton, Ontario, Canada, between the Mary E. Keyes Residence and H.G. Thode Library. GO Transit has exclusive use of this terminal. McMaster University has become a major destination for GO bus services, and ridership is now comparable to some GO train stations. The new accessible terminal, which opened on April 5, 2007, includes five bus bays, three heated shelters, and large platforms.
