Bahir Dar Zuria (Amharic "Greater Bahir Dar Area") is one of the woredas in the Amhara Region of Ethiopia. Part of the Mirab Gojjam Zone, this woreda is bordered on the south by Yilmana Densa, on the southwest by Mecha, on the northwest by the Lesser Abay River which separates it from Semien Achefer, on the north by Lake Tana, on the shores of Lake Tana situates the city and special zone of Bahir Dar, and on the east by the Abay River which separates it from the Debub Gondar Zone.

Yilmana Densa

Yilmana Densa is one of the woredas in the Amhara Region of Ethiopia. Part of the Mirab Gojjam Zone, Yilmana Densa is bordered on the south by Kuarit, on the southwest by Sekela, on the west by Mecha, on the north by Bahir Dar Zuria, on the east by the Abay River which separates it from the Debub Gondar Zone, and on the southeast by the Misraq Gojjam Zone. The major town in Yilmana Densa is Adet.

Mirab Gojjam Zone

Mirab Gojjam (or "West Gojjam") is a Zone in the Amhara Region of Ethiopia. Mirab Gojjam is named after the former province of Gojjam. Mirab Gojjam is bordered on the south by the Abay River which separates it from the Oromia Region and Benishangul-Gumuz Region, on the west by Agew Awi, on the northwest by Semien Gondar, on the north by Lake Tana, and the Abay River which separates it from the Debub Gondar, and on the east by Misraq Gojjam. Its highest point is Mount Amedamit.

Kuarit

Kuarit is one of the woredas in the Amhara Region of Ethiopia. Part of the Mirab Gojjam Zone, Kuarit is bordered on the southwest by Jabi Tehnan, on the west by Sekela, on the north by Yilmana Densa, on the east by the Misraq Gojjam Zone, and on the southeast by Dega Damot. The major town in Kuarit is Gebeze Mariam. Goncha woreda was separated from Kuarit.

Blue Nile Falls

The Blue Nile Falls is a waterfall on the Blue Nile river in Ethiopia. It is known as Tis Abay in Amharic, meaning "smoking water". It is situated on the upper course of the river, about 30 km downstream from the town of Bahir Dar and Lake Tana. The falls are considered one of Ethiopia's best known tourist attractions.
