Thiruvilwamala (also spelled Thiruvilluamala) is a hilly village in the northern terrain of Thrissur district of Kerala state in southern India. It is located 47 kilometres towards north-east of the District Head Quarters Thrissur. The village, which is more of a temple town, is located on the banks of the Bharathappuzha river, with nearest towns being Shoranur and Ottapalam. Mankurussi or Mankurissi is a small town near Palakkad in the state of Kerala in southern India. It is in the mid-way between Palakkad and Ottapalam, located 17 KM from Palakkad town in the Palakkad-Ponnani State Highway. It is a very green and picturesque village located on the banks of river Bharathapuzha. Mankurussi finds place even in some very old books and the word 'Mankurussi' means 'The Birthplace of Great men' (as quoted by a famous saint).
