Cunerakerk

Wageningen University and Research Centre is a Dutch public university in Wageningen, The Netherlands. It consists of Wageningen University and the former agricultural research institutes (Dienst Landbouwkundig Onderzoek) of the Dutch Ministry of Agriculture. Kesteren

Kesteren is a town in the Dutch province of Gelderland. It is a part of the municipality of Neder-Betuwe, and lies about 8 km southwest of Wageningen. Kesteren was a separate municipality until 2002, when it merged with Dodewaard and Echteld. The new municipality was first called "Kesteren", but changed its name to Neder-Betuwe in 2003. In 2009, the town of Kesteren had 5017 inhabitants. The built-up area of the town was 0.9573 km², and contains 1540 residences.

Hotel de Wereld

Hotel de Wereld (meaning The World Hotel) in Wageningen was the site of the capitulation of the German troops in the Netherlands on 5 and 6 May 1945, and the end of German occupation during World War II. On 6 May 1945, the German general Blaskowitz surrendered to the Canadian general Charles Foulkes, which ended the Second World War in the Netherlands. The Generals negotiated the terms of surrender in the Hotel de Wereld. This fact is remembered annually.
