Lindis River

The Lindis River is found in Otago in the South Island of New Zealand. It is a tributary of the Clutha River, flowing south for 55 kilometres through the Lindis Pass, site of the main inland road route between Otago and the Mackenzie Basin in Canterbury.

Tarras

Tarras is a small farming settlement in Central Otago, in the South Island of New Zealand. It is located on the slopes above the upper reaches of the Clutha Valley, on State Highway 8 not far from the southern end of the Lindis Pass. Most farms in the Tarras district run sheep, principally merino sheep farmed for their super-fine wool.

Luggate

Luggate is a small township in the South Island of New Zealand. It is located on State Highway 6 between Wanaka and Cromwell, near the junction with State Highway 8A, approximately 15 km from the Wanaka township, just past Wanaka Airport. The Luggate 'Grandview Bridge' is a local icon listed highly in the Queenstown Lakes District Council's Historic Register.

Lowburn

For the similarly named community in North Canterbury, see Loburn, New Zealand Lowburn is a small settlement in Central Otago, in the South Island of New Zealand. It is located close to the shores of the man-made Lake Dunstan, which was formed by the building of the Clyde Dam. Lowburn lies between the towns of Wanaka and Cromwell. In the early days of European settlement, a ferry crossed the Clutha River at this point.

Lake Dunstan

Lake Dunstan is a man-made lake and reservoir in the South Island of New Zealand. The lake was formed on the Clutha River as a result of the construction of the Clyde Dam, filling in four controlled stages beginning in April 1992 and completed the next year. Parts of the town of Cromwell were relocated to a new area above the new lake. Between the town of Cromwell and the Clyde Dam the lake passes through what is called the Cromwell Gorge.
