Geographical centre of Switzerland

The geographical centre of Switzerland has the coordinates {{#invoke:Coordinates|coord}}{{#coordinates:46|48|4|N|8|13|36|E|type:landmark_region:CH-OW_source:dewiki |primary |name= }}. It is located at Älggi-Alp in the municipality of Sachseln, Obwalden. The point is the centre of mass determined in 1988 by Swisstopo. As the point is difficult to access, a stone was set 500 m further south-east on Älggi Alp (1645 m).

Melchsee-Frutt

Melchsee-Frutt is a mountain resort village in Switzerland. The village is located near the lake Melchsee, in the municipality of Kerns, canton Obwalden. It has an elevation of 1920 meters. The main attractions of this resort are skiing, snowboarding, hiking, biking and rock climbing. The village is accessible by car, but with some time restrictions. It can also be reached by use of a gondola lift.

Melchsee

Melchsee is a lake in the canton of Obwalden, Switzerland. It lends it name to the resort Melchsee-Frutt, in the municipality of Kerns. At an elevation of 1891 m, its surface area is 0.54 km².

Kaiserstuhl OW railway station

Kaiserstuhl OW is a Swiss railway station on the Brünig line, owned by the Zentralbahn, that links Interlaken and Lucerne. The station is located by the hamlet of Kaiserstuhl, in the municipality of Lungern and the canton of Obwalden. The station is served by the following passenger trains: The station should not be confused with Kaiserstuhl AG station, on the Winterthur to Koblenz line in the canton of Aargau.

Lake Lungern

Lake Lungern (German: Lungerersee, also spelled Lungernsee or Lungerensee) is a small natural lake in Obwalden, Switzerland which is named after the town Lungern on its shore. The lake is drained by the Sarner Aa river, which flows through the Sarnersee and into Lake Lucerne. The lake was originally much larger, and covered a large part of the valley it is situated in. Starting in 1836, its level was lowered by 36 metres through an artificial drainage tunnel of 380 m length.
