Geographical centre of Switzerland
The geographical centre of Switzerland has the coordinates {{#invoke:Coordinates|coord}}{{#coordinates:46|48|4|N|8|13|36|E|type:landmark_region:CH-OW_source:dewiki |primary |name= }}. It is located at Älggi-Alp in the municipality of Sachseln, Obwalden. The point is the centre of mass determined in 1988 by Swisstopo. As the point is difficult to access, a stone was set 500 m further south-east on Älggi Alp (1645 m).

The main attractions of this resort are skiing, snowboarding, hiking, biking and rock climbing. The village is accessible by car, but with some time restrictions. It can also be reached by use of a gondola lift.

Giswil is a Swiss railway station on the Brünig line, owned by the Zentralbahn, that links Lucerne and Interlaken. The station is in the municipality of Giswil in the canton of Obwalden. The line from Giswil over the Brünig Pass towards Interlaken is equipped with rack rails, and Giswil is the furthest station from Lucerne that can be served by trains not fitted with rack equipment.
