A595 road

The A595 is a primary route in Cumbria, in northern England that starts in Carlisle, passes through Whitehaven, and goes close to Workington, Cockermouth and Wigton. It passes Sellafield and Ravenglass before ending at the Dalton-in-Furness by-pass, in southern Cumbria, where it joins the A590 trunk road.

Dalton Castle

Dalton Castle is a 14th-century peel tower situated in Dalton-in-Furness, Cumbria, England, and in the ownership of the National Trust. It was constructed by the monks of Furness Abbey for the protection of the nearby market town, and was the building from which the Abbot administered the area and dispensed justice. The property hosts an exhibition on a local history as well as a display about local painter George Romney.

Dalton railway station is a railway station that serves the town of Dalton-in-Furness in Cumbria, England. It is located on the Furness Line from Barrow-in-Furness to Lancaster. Generally, only local services operated by Northern Rail stop at the station. However, a few longer-distances services operated by First TransPennine Express also use the station.

Millom Rural District

Millom was a rural district in Cumberland in England from 1934 to 1974. It was formed by a County Review Order in 1934 by the merger of the Millom urban district with most of the Bootle Rural District. It continued in existence until 1 April 1974 when it was merged by the Local Government Act 1972 to form the Copeland district of Cumbria.
