Askham Bryan College

Askham Bryan College is a specialist landbased college based in Askham Bryan, York, England. It also has centres in Thirsk, Bedale, Harrogate, Guisborough, Bradford, Wakefield Scarborough and Penrith. Copmanthorpe train accident

The Copmanthorpe train accident occurred on 25 September 2006, at Moor Lane, Copmanthorpe, North Yorkshire, England, on the East Coast Main Line, south of York. A 55-year-old man died when 221 136, Yuri Gagarin, a Class 221 Virgin Super Voyager, on the 14:25 Virgin CrossCountry service from Plymouth to Edinburgh Waverley, hit his car at 21:01. The train derailed but remained upright and came to a stop further down the line. There were no other injuries.

Askham Bog

Askham Bog is an area of peat bog in the Vale of York in North Yorkshire, England, south of the city of York, north of Copmanthorpe and close to Askham Bryan and Askham Richard. Part of the bog is maintained by the Yorkshire Wildlife Trust as a nature reserve and is their oldest reserve.
