Attingham Park

Attingham Park is a country house and estate in Shropshire, England. Located near the village of Atcham, on the B4380 Shrewsbury to Wellington road. It is owned by the National Trust. It is a Grade I listed building. Across the extensive 270 hectare (640 acre) Grade II* listed parkland and gardens there are five Grade II* listed buildings, including the stable block, Tern Lodge which can be seen on the B4380, and two bridges that span the River Tern.

Cronkhill

Cronkhill, a country house in Shropshire near Shrewsbury, was designed by John Nash about 1802 for the second Lord Berwick, who lived nearby at Attingham Park. The house is one of the incunabula of Italianate architecture in Great Britain.

Berrington railway station

Berrington railway station was a railway station on the Severn Valley line. It opened in 1880 with a single platform and a siding. By 1898 it had acquired an additional platform along with a signal box and the sidings had been expanded. Despite the name it was actually closer to the neighbouring village of Cross Houses. Although thought by some people to have been closed as part of the Beeching axe in 1963 its planned closure pre-dated his report.

River Tern

The River Tern (also historically known as the Tearne) is a river in Shropshire, England. It rises north-east of Market Drayton in the north of the county. The source of the Tern is considered to be the lake in the grounds of Maer Hall, Staffordshire. From here it flows for about 30 miles, being fed by the River Meese and the River Roden, until it joins the River Severn near Attingham Park, Atcham.

Viroconium Cornoviorum

Viroconium Cornoviorum, or Viroconium or occasionally Uriconium, was a Roman town, one corner of which is now occupied by Wroxeter, a small village in Shropshire, England, about 5 miles east-south-east of Shrewsbury. At its peak, Viroconium is estimated to have been the fourth largest Roman settlement in Britain, a civitas with a population of more than 15,000. The settlement probably lasted until the end of the seventh century or the beginning of the eighth. Extensive remains can still be seen.
