River Creedy

The River Creedy is a small river in Devon, England. It gives its name to the local town or ton of Crediton, which is on its west bank. Just below the town, the river merges with the River Yeo and it ends where it meets the River Exe at Cowley Bridge. The name is believed to be of Celtic origin, but views of its precise origin differ. According to one source it derives from a root meaning winding. Another view holds that it means shrinking, as compared with the more powerful Yeo.

Exeter Traction Maintenance Depot

Exeter TMD is a railway Traction Maintenance Depot situated in Exeter, Devon, England, next to the city's main St Davids station. The depot is operated by First Great Western. There are 12 roads, the Traction Maintenance Depot (TMD) can hold 2 sets of 2 × 23 m vehicles. Behind a remaining wall from the previous Steam shed is where the Civil Shed is located, and the Premier shed (seldom used) is nearest the station.

Longdown

Longdown is a small village in the parish of Holcombe Burnell, south of the A30 road, about four miles west of Exeter in Devon, England. It has a public house called The Lamb Inn. About half a mile south of the village is the 836 yard long Perridge Tunnel, through which the Teign Valley Railway Line ran until it closed in 1958. The tunnel is now blocked by a collapse, but the nearby Longdown railway station was reported as being in good condition in 2006.

Tarka Line

The Tarka Line (named after the animal hero in Henry Williamson's book Tarka the Otter) is a railway line from Exeter to Barnstaple in Devon, England. The line follows the River Creedy, River Yeo and River Taw for some of its route. At Coleford Junction there is a branch to Okehampton, which has recently reopened to passenger trains as the Dartmoor Railway.

Avocet Line

The Avocet Line is the railway line in England connecting Exeter with Exmouth. It was originally built by the London and South Western Railway. The line follows the Exe Estuary for most of its route, giving views of the estuary. The line is named after the Pied Avocet, which live in the estuary.
