Fintray Hillclimb

Fintray House Hillclimb is a speed motorsport event held near Hatton of Fintray, in Aberdeenshire, Scotland. Each event is a separate round of the Scottish Hillclimb Championship. The venue is a working farm for the majority of the year but Grampian Automobile Club (GAC) stage two, two-day events each year. The venue has been used since the 1960s, and continues to see record entries.

Battle of Craibstone

The Battle of Craibstone was fought on 20 November 1571 between Clan Gordon and the Clan Forbes on an area that has now been constructed over, found in central Aberdeen, Scotland. It was part of the Marian civil war in which the Clan Forbes supported the King and Clan Gordon supported the Queen. So called due to its proximity to Craibstone Croft, the battle was won by the Gordons who forced the Forbes into retreat in approximately one hour with the loss of sixty men.

Formartine and Buchan Way

The Formartine and Buchan Way is a long-distance footpath in Scotland, extending from Dyce north to Peterhead and Fraserburgh. It follows the track of a former railway line, the Formartine and Buchan Railway, and is open to walkers and cyclists. Horse riders are also welcome on parts of the track but may require a permit. The railway closed in 1979 (Fraserburgh) and 1970 (Maud-Peterhead). The walkway opened in the early 1990s.

NECR

NECR (North East Community Radio) is a broadcast radio station based in Kintore, Aberdeenshire, Scotland. NECR was awarded an Independent Local Radio Licence in 1993 and started broadcasting in 1994. The station is a totally independent radio station which is accountable to a small local board of directors. NECR broadcasts from a studio on School Road in Kintore (8 miles north west of Aberdeen) the studio is referred to on air and in the address as "the very nice shed" or "the shed".

Westhill Academy

Westhill Academy is an Aberdeenshire Council secondary school in Westhill, near Aberdeen, Scotland, serving the Westhill, Elrick, Skene and Kingswells areas of Aberdeenshire. People who live in Skene and the country get a school bus before and after school. However pupils from nearby Kingswells, which is in neighboring council (Aberdeen City) area, have to arrange their own transport. Westhill Academy opened in the autumn of 1979 in buildings designed to accommodate 500 pupils.
