Elmwood College

Elmwood College is located in Cupar, Fife, Scotland. Elmwood College was officially declared open in 1972, after a few years of holding classes on borrowed premises. The college had started classes about twenty years earlier. There are full-time as well as part-time courses, work based courses, and modern apprenticeships. North-East Fife (district)

North-East Fife was one of three local government districts in the Fife region of Scotland from 1975 - 1996. The district was formed by the local Government (Scotland) Act 1973 from part of the former county of Fife, namely: The burghs of Auchtermuchty, Crail, Cupar, Elie and Earlsferry, Falkland, Kilrenny, Anstruther Easter and Anstruther Wester, Ladybank, Newburgh, Newport-on-Tay, Pittenweem, St Andrews, St Monance and Tayport. Yeomanry House

Yeomanry House is currently a barracks of the Fife and Forfar Yeomanry/Scottish Horse located in Cupar, Fife. This complex of buildings within a walled compound was completed in 1844 and was originally used as a prison for criminals until it was converted into a military barracks.

Stratheden

Stratheden is a hamlet 2 miles west of Cupar, and just north of Springfield, in Fife, Scotland. The hamlet comprises a psychiatric hospital and Stratheden Cottages, which were originally built to house the hospital staff. The hospital was built as the Fife and Kinross District Lunatic Asylum in the 1860s. It has also been known as Cupar Asylum and Springfield Asylum. The Scots Porridge Oats factory is located nearby, as is Elmwood Farm, the first fully organic farm in Scotland.
