Ardgour

Ardgour (Scottish Gaelic: Ard Ghobhar, meaning Height of the goats) is a district of Lochaber on Ardnamurchan peninisula on the western shore of Loch Linnhe, in Highland Scotland. The term Ardgour, together with Kingairloch, is applied to a large area of countryside around the village, from the Glensanda Superquarry, Kingairloch and Kilmalieu in the south and west, up to Conaglen, Treslaig, Camasnagaul, Achaphubuil and Blaich in the north. The area is served by the A861 road.

Loch Linnhe

Loch Linnhe (LIN-ee, known in Gaelic as An Linne Dhubh upstream of Corran and as An Linne Sheileach downstream of Corran) is a sea loch on the west coast of Scotland. Loch Linnhe is about 50 kilometres long. It opens onto the Firth of Lorne at its south-western end. The part of the loch upstream of Corran is 15 kilometres long and only about an average of 2 kilometres wide.

Nether Lochaber

Nether Lochaber in Lochaber, Highland, Scotland, is the modern (1950s) name for the Parish of 'Ballachulish and Onich'. This Parish was formed, in 1911, out of the Quoad Sacra Parish of 'Ballachulish and Corran of Ardgour' which itself was formed, in 1829, out of the Parish of 'Kilmallie' when the Thomas Telford Parliamentary churches were built at Creag Mhor in (north) Ballachulish and at Ardgour. Nether Lochaber is made up of Onich and North Ballachulish.

Ballachulish Bridge

The Ballachulish Bridge is a bridge in the west highlands of Scotland. It crosses the narrows between Loch Leven and Loch Linnhe, linking the villages of South Ballachulish (Argyll) and North Ballachulish (Inverness-shire). It carries the A82 road, the main route between Glasgow and Inverness. The bridge opened in 1975, replacing the Ballachulish ferry. Its design was not to everyone's taste, neither was its peppermint green colour. It became nicknamed "King Kong's coathanger".
