Llanarmon Mynydd Mawr

Llanarmon Mynydd Mawr, occasionally referred to as Llanarmon Fach, is an isolated rural parish in Powys, Wales. It was formerly in Denbighshire, and from 1974 to 1996 was in the county of Clwyd. It measures 2 square miles and has a population of 40. The scattered settlement lies on the south-facing slopes of the Berwyn Mountains in the high upper part of the Tanat Valley, at around 950 feet above sea level.

River Rhaeadr

The River Rhaeadr is a river in Wales. It starts at the Pistyll Rhaeadr waterfall a few miles from the village of Llanrhaeadr-ym-Mochnant, where the Afon Disgynfa falls over a 240-foot (73 m) cliff-face, after which the river is known as the Afon Rhaeadr. Downstream, the Afon Rhaeadr runs into the Afon Tanat.

Afon Twrch, Clwyd

Not to be confused with the Afon Twrch which is a tributary of the River Tawe, South Wales or the Afon Twrch which is a tributary of the River Cothi in West Wales . The Afon Twrch is a river near Llanrhaeadr-ym-Mochnant in Clwyd, Wales. Its headwaters lie on the eastern slopes of Cadair Berwyn, the highest peak of the Berwyn range, and the river flows broadly southeastwards to join the River Tanat, itself a tributary of the River Severn.

Llangadwaladr, Powys

Llangadwaladr, formerly spelt Llancadwaladr in some sources, is an isolated mountain parish in Powys, Wales. It was formerly in the historic county of Denbighshire, and from 1974-1996 was in Clwyd. Some 7 miles west of the nearest town, Oswestry, it covers an area of sparsely settled hill farming country around the valley of the Afon Ysgwennant beneath Gyrn Moelfre.

Gyrn Moelfre

Gyrn Moelfre is a mountain in Powys, mid Wales, near the border with Shropshire. It stands to the south-east of the Berwyns, from which it is separated by Afon Ysgwennant. The village of Llansilin lies on its south-west slopes. It was historically in Denbighshire, but the area was transferred to Powys in 1996.
