Lonelyville, New York
Lonelyville is a small beach community located in the western end of Fire Island in the town of Islip in Suffolk County, New York, United States. Lonelyville has approximately 60 houses and is located between Dunewood and Atlantique. The closest ferry service is from Dunewood. There are no stores or facilities but it is a fairly easy walk or bike ride to Fair Harbor which serves as a town center for the community.

It's protected from the Atlantic Ocean by Fire Island, a barrier island, as well as the eastern end of Jones Beach Island and Captree Island. Robert Moses Causeway adjoins the Great South Bay Bridge, which leads to Robert Moses State Park.

Fair Harbor is a hamlet located near the western end of Fire Island. It is a part of the Town of Islip on Long Island, New York. It is less than one square mile. The community was first founded in the late 1800's. Fair Harbor falls under the police jurisdiction of Suffolk County Marine Bureau and is protected by its own volunteer fire department, the Fair Harbor Fire Department, founded in 1931.
